Harlow Moor Gardens

"Aaaaah, it's a lion!"

Kevin took Archie and his friend Sonny to Harlow Moor garden with the pre-school for the morning. They had a great time with all the kids, eating Alpine strawberries and climbing and checking the plants.

'He's behind you!'
Up and down and up and down.

3 Peaks walk

David Noble (left)      Mike Houghten(middle)     Kevin Ison(right)
This past weekend we all went out for a fundraising walk of 25miles and 3 very tough mountains to go up with the "Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks Walk".

Rona and Eve, Angus and Archie went off with a load of others to a waterfall walk while us 4 went on the walk.

Fantastic views, but the last mountain was almost vertical and last 2 miles for me were me looking like an old grandad with my knees telling me it was time to have a break.

We camped two nights and had a great time.

This is the start of a "Adventurer Club" for the children at the School. Mike, the teacher (middle top) is looking to raise £2000 for tents and training (certification) for a bunch of us parents so that it will be easy to get parents to take the children out for outdoor activities.

There is plenty of activities they can do around here, but as usual you need to be certificated up to the eyeballs, but we consider this worthwhile if we can get the school kids out on canoes, bikes, abseiling etc.

Lot of steep hills.
Going down.

Fun run in local village

Rona running well in 10K.
A very long run and all they got was a cup at the end!
Every year they have a fun run and serious run in the village. Great fun for all. The 10Km run is taken seriously and people from all around come to it.

Rona and friends did the 10K run while Kevin and the kids did the 2k fun run. Archie spent most of it on the shoulders of Kevin! Angus and Eve ran it at good time.

The rest of the day is spent eating, drinking, playing rounders with a large group from the village.

Angus ran fast.

Most of the 10 k runners are "serial runners" and propbably sloped off home to practice for another village run next weekend!
